St. Jude Festival
The Festival is our major social event and fund raiser each year and each year our parish sets aside a weekend in June to generously and wholeheartedly give of its time, talent and treasure. This is truly a cooperative undertaking by hundreds of parishioners. The tasks range from very large to very small and are suited for young and old alike. It is a time to become reacquainted with people you haven’t seen for some time and an opportunity to welcome new members in a social atmosphere. It is a time for families to share food, games and each other’s company. And along with all of this the festival helps put a little extra money in the bank for future needs of the parish.

If you are interested in helping your fellow parishioners during difficult times, then the Ministry of Fellowship and Hope needs you! We provide occasional rides to medical appointments and rides to Mass for those who are unable to drive themselves. We host brunches/lunches for the widows and widowers of the parish to get together for fellowship. We mail Sunday bulletins to shut-ins. We facilitate monthly Bereavement Support gatherings for those families who have experienced the death of a loved one. We plan an annual All Souls Day Mass and reception on November 2 for all those families who have lost a loved one during past year. We organize and serve Mercy Meals for family and friends following a funeral.

When a death occurs family members are suddenly faced with many tasks and decisions that must be handled. One way we can minister to families dealing with the loss of a loved one is to offer them a gathering place and a meal after the funeral services. Please let us know if you can be called upon to donate an item or assist with serving the meal.

The men of the parish gather for fellowship through the various activities of the Men’s Club. Social events provide an opportunity to become better acquainted with fellow parishioners, while service projects and fund-raising efforts provide support to the parish and community. All men of the parish are invited to join us, generally the first Thursday of each month at 7:30 p.m. in the Pavilion (weather-permitting) or the Rectory basement. Other officers include John Faust, Brian Morris and Justin Lawrence.

Our mission is to unite women of St. Jude Parish by providing opportunities for spiritual growth, leadership, and service through recreational, educational, and charitable activities. The women are involved in sponsoring several church projects, providing many opportunities for women to get involved in parish activities and meet other women of the parish, while supporting our church and community. Our meetings or social gatherings are usually on the second Thursday of each month at 7 p.m. and all women are invited to join us. Other officers include Teresa Nielsen, Heather Crews and Kathy Butkiewicz.

Six times a year we invite parishioners to get acquainted with one another by joining us in the Narthex after the 8:30 and 10:30 a.m. Mass for donuts and coffee. We encourage current and new parishioners to build community with one another during these times of fellowship. Assistance in set up and serving refreshments is most welcome.
