First Communion & Reconcilliation
Embracing Christ and His Parish: Eucharist & Reconciliation
Preparation for the sacraments of Eucharist and Reconciliation begins with the child's baptism and continues as the child experiences faith as it is expressed and practiced in the family and home environment. The sacrament of Reconciliation celebrates the forgiveness of our sins and reconciles us with God and the Church. In receiving the Eucharist for the first time, we receive the "source and summit of Christian life" and are united with Christ's sacrifice on the cross, a sacrifice of praise and thanksgiving to our Father.
At St. Jude, second grade is the usual year for preparation for Reconciliation and First Communion. To make this year a true celebration of growth in God's family, in addition to classroom preparation, the program includes participation in Embracing Christ and His Parish: Eucharist. To receive the sacraments of Eucharist and Reconciliation, regular attendance in a formal religious education program, during first and second grade, such as the Sunday Morning Religious education classes, St. Jude School or verified homeschooling program, is required for children to participate in Embracing Christ and His Parish.
Children typically register through the school or Sunday Religious Education program. If you have home school student or special need please contact Tammy Stewart email@example.com
