The Sacrament of Confirmation completes the initiation of faith for Catholics who have received the Sacraments of Baptism and Eucharist. Primary formation for this sacrament takes place during a parishioner’s eighth grade year.
A young person must be a baptized Catholic to be eligible for 8th grade Confirmation. Students enrolled in St. Jude School are being offered Confirmation prep during their religion classes.
Students who attend public schools are offered Confirmation prep twice a month on Sunday morning from 10:30-noon.
Eighth grade Confirmation involves family formation. Parents are asked to join a Small Church Community with other 8th grade parents to deepen their faith and knowledge about the sacrament of Confirmation so that they can fully support their child in their formation.

Adults Seeking Confirmation
Adult Catholics who wish to be confirmed in the Catholic Faith are invited to discuss the opportunities for a fruitful preparation for this sacrament. Depending on one's prior catechesis and current formation needs they might prepare for this sacrament through a process called the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) or a more focused program which allows practicing Catholics in need of Confirmation to be confirmed by the Archbishop at a special liturgy on Pentecost Sunday at SS. Peter and Paul Cathedral. Preparation for this program begins in the spring.
