Music is a special form of prayer. It sets the mood of the liturgy celebration and provides an inviting call to the parish to participate. This ministry is always looking for additional people who love to praise our Lord in song through singing or playing an instrument. Traditional as well as Contemporary Christian music is used during liturgy. There are various opportunities of involvement such as cantors, choir, ensembles or instrumentalists. Come join us!
Art/Environment
Contact: Joan McKinley
Phone: (317) 786-4371
Email: jmckinley@stjudeindy.org
This ministry is especially devoted to creating an environment that emphasizes the particular Church season and/or special liturgy celebrations. This ministry also strives to provide a clean and inviting environment in which we can come together to worship and praise God.
Ladies Bible Study/Prayer Group
Contact: Mary Lou Harbert
Phone: (317) 786-4371
This study group is open to all ladies of the parish and their guests. Weekly meetings are held on Wednesday mornings at 9:30 a.m. Study guides are used to assist in the weekly small group discussions. The meeting opens with a Communion Service, after which conversational prayers, prayer requests, songs, worship and praise are shared.
Christ Renews His Parish (CRHP)
Contact: Jeff McMahon
Email: mcmahonj@ips.k12.in.us
Christ Renews His Parish is a process by which small groups, through shared faith journeys, prayer, scripture and song, vow to renew their commitment to God and others. Our goal is to experience Christ and to be Christ for others. The process begins with a weekend retreat presented by the previous renewal team. The new group continues through a formation process over the next 6 months in weekly meetings. (The time is determined by the group to try to accommodate everyone's schedules.) Throughout the 6 months, a sense of community becomes intense, both within the team and as a part of the parish and many experience a renewed desire to know God's Word, worship, pray and serve. At the conclusion of 6 months, the team hosts a retreat for the next group. Many groups benefit from the experience so much that they choose to continue in some capacity after the six months. Retreats are usually in the spring and fall. Typically, the men's retreat is held one weekend in September and one in March. The women's retreat is held the following weekend or soon thereafter. The number of participants is limited for each retreat. Once the limit is reached a waiting list is started, so it is recommended that anyone who is interested should sign up as soon as possible.

Eucharistic Ministers to Homebound
Contact: Nick Kovatch
Phone: (317) 780-7591
Email: nkovatch@stjudeindy.org
This very special ministry brings the Eucharist to those who are unable to come to Mass. It also provides an opportunity to bring a friendly hello and word of encouragement to members of our St. Jude community who may not be able to visit with friends as they once did.

Eucharistic Ministers Weekend Schedule
Those who wish to assist in distributing the Body and Blood of Christ at Mass are given a short training session prior to serving. A schedule is made out which usually spans three months at a time. It is open to all adult Catholics who are in full communion with the Church, including those high school students who have been confirmed. The number of times you will minister will depend on what Mass you prefer and how many ministers are available for that time.
Morning Communion Service Ministers
Contact: Joan McKinley
Phone: (317) 786-4371
Email: jmckinley@stjudeindy.org
A short Communion Service is offered weekdays at 7:00 a.m., 7:20 a.m. and 7:40 a.m. in the Place of Reservation. Ministers are needed to lead these services one week at a time on a rotating basis.
Greeters/Gift Bearers
Contact: Kal & Lynda Knable
Phone: 784-7635
Email: kknable@yahoo.com
Greeters offer a warm welcome as people enter the doors to celebrate the Eucharist. For some people, this could be the first smile and only smile of the day. Greeters also represent the parish community gathered by carrying forward the bread and wine at the Offertory and helping the ushers distribute bulletins after Mass. This ministry is available to all families, single parishioners, couples and parish groups. It is a wonderful way, especially for new members and those who want to participate in a ministry, but are not comfortable with the others offered, to get to know people and become involved. Scheduling is done by your Mass preference and for special occasions.
Liturgy Committee
Contact: Joan McKinley
Phone: (317) 786-4371

Liturgy Committee is committed to manifest the presence of God in the Liturgy through prayers, ministry, environment, hospitality and music. This ministry is called to nurture Spiritual growth through promoting, supporting and implementing Parish Liturgies, Sacramental Rites and all forms of Parish Prayer. We strive to maintain meaningful worship and community prayer from which Spirituality flows forth from our parish. The committee coordinates and schedules all persons serving at Liturgies to that we can come together as a parish of Christ believers. The Liturgy Committee meets the first Thursday of each month at 7:00 p.m. at the Parish Center as needed.

As Catholics, our central and uniting prayer is the celebration of the Eucharist at Mass. And since we are a "community of believers," we are called to be physically as well as mentally active in this holy celebration of Christ's redeeming death and resurrection. Each weekend it takes 80-90 people to minister at our five Masses and we would welcome your participation. Liturgy Meetings are the first Thursday of each month at 7:00 p.m. at the Parish Center. Please call in advance to have an item placed on the agenda.
Married Couple Sponsors
Contact: Fr. Steve Banet
Phone: (317) 786-4371
Email: sbanet@stjudeindy.org
Because the vows taken in the sacrament of marriage involve a lifelong commitment to one another, the church offers as much counseling as possible to help the couple prepare to take these vows. In addition to talking with the priest, a married couple from the parish is asked to meet with each couple. Together they discuss topics and issues that many married couples must face throughout a lifetime together. Instructions are provided, although sometimes just general discussion in a "real life" family setting can help the couple discover how one another feels about issues they have never before discussed. The married couple sponsors provide a very important ministry by opening their homes and hearts.
Mass Coordinator /Wedding Coordinator
Contact: Joan McKinley
Phone: (317) 786-4371
mail: jmckinley@stjudeindy.org
The Mass coordinators are individuals who make sure everything and everyone needed is in place prior to and following the weekend Masses and wedding celebrations. Coordinators assist "behind the scenes" in regards to setting up for Mass and the start of the opening procession, assuring that gift bearers are present in a timely manner, and many other details, to enable Christ's presence as our parish members gather to celebrate the Eucharist together.
Readers
Contact: Joyce Catalino
Email: catalino135@insightbb.com
For those who have an interest in sharing the word of God and making the readings come alive for the congregation, this ministry is for you. The reader coordinator will provide the instructions and materials and will schedule readers for the Mass time that you prefer.
Rosary
Contact: Alice Miller
Email: ajdyar@yahoo.com
"Among all the devotions approved by the Church none has been favored by so many miracles as the devotion of the Most Holy Rosary." Pope Pius IX. The rosary is said at 6:15pm in the Church, every 3rd Wednesday.
Servers
Contact: Joan McKinley
Phone: (317) 786-4371
Email: jmckinley@stjudeindy.org
These young people have the privilege of assisting the priest during the Mass. The servers may be trained as early as 6th grade at St. Jude and may continue to serve for as long as they like. Although we usually see our grade school students serving, we encourage our servers to continue on through high school.
Small Church Communities
Contact: Annette Calloway
Phone: (317) 780-7591
Email: acalloway@stjudeindy.org
"Ordinary people sharing life and faith regularly" that is what Small Church Communities is all about. In the large church setting, many people often feel disconnected from the pulse of the parish. They want their faith life to be more than just Sunday worship and look for ways to connect what they pray and learn at Mass with their everyday life. Although, this may seem like an impossible task when there are so many people in a parish like St. Jude, Small Church Community are designed to do just that. These groups provide individual members with a core community to journey and share with that is then connected to the larger church. Please contact us if you are interested in joining a Small Faith Community.

St. Jude's Prayer Line
Contact: Joan Cahill
Email: mjjncahill@juno.com
The St. Jude Prayer Line is a group of parishioners that pray for fellow parishioners or their relatives and friends in need. There are no meetings. This is a ministry that can be done in your home, at work, in your car, wherever and whenever you pray. All you need to do is call the Prayer Line phone number, 780-7589 to retrieve the special intentions for the week, or if you prefer, have the intentions e-mailed to you. While you say your daily prayers, remember those for whom we have been asked to pray. If you would like to pray for others or would like to request a special intention, please e-maill Joan at stjudeindy_pl@mypulselists.com.
Ushers
Contact: Bill Kidwell
Phone: djkidw@sbcglobal.net
Ushers Schedule
The ushers assist with seating, the collecting of offerings and assuring the smooth flow of people who receive communion. They also distribute the bulletins after Mass and tend to any other details that may need attention at our liturgy celebrations and are on hand for emergencies. Scheduling is arranged by Mass preference and commitment time depends on the number of ushers available.
Vocations Committee
Contact: Shirley Dreyer
Email: SHIRELY.DREYER@GMAIL.COM
In the developing stages for the parish. We are seeking parishioners willing to promote and make more aware the need for Vocations through prayers, events and by providing information to anyone who may be considering a call to the Priesthood or Religious life. We can all pray, as we are witness to the shortages and needs, but we can also encourage our young people and others to think about a vocation dedicated to our Lord and to be of service to others.
Women's Prayer Group
Contact: Cathy Matis
Email: j.matis@sbcglobal.net
