Baptism

This sacrament welcomes one into the family of God and our St. Jude Parish Faith Community. Participation in the Embracing Christ and His Parish is required for parents each time they wish to have a child baptized. This time of reflection will clarify the roles of parents, godparents, and the various symbols that are used within the Baptismal ceremony. Baptisms are held on a scheduled Sunday of each month after the noon Mass. Baptismal families need to be active, registered members of the parish. Please contact Annette Calloway, Director of Religious Education, at the parish center 786-4371 for more information.

To make this year a true celebration of growth in God's family in addition to classroom preparation the program includes participation in Embracing Christ and His Parish:Eucharist. A special First Communion Liturgy is celebrated during the Easter Season, or families may choose to have their child celebrate at other designated Sunday Liturgies. Please contact Tammy Stewart, Level Coordinator in Faith Formation, at the parish center 786-4371.

RCIA

"The sacraments of Christian initiation - Baptism, Confirmation, and the Eucharist - lay the foundation of every Christian life. The sharing in the divine nature given to men through the grace of Christ bears a certain likeness to the origin, development, and nourishing natural life. The faithful are born anew by Baptism, strengthened by the sacrament of Confirmation, and receive in the Eucharist the food of eternal life. By means of these sacraments of Christian initiation, they thus revive in increasing measures the treasures of the divine life and advance toward the perfection of charity." Paul VI, apostolic constitution, Divine consortium naturae: AAS 63 (1971) 657. Please contact Annette Calloway, Director of Religious Education, at the parish center 786-4371.
