Mercy Meals

Contact: Dianne Williams
Phone:
Email: dwilliams4262@comcast.net

When a death occurs, family members are suddenly faced with many tasks and decisions that must be handled. One way we can minister to families dealing with the loss of a loved one is to offer them a gathering place and a meal after the funeral services. Please let us know if you can be called upon to donate an item or assist with serving the meal.

St. Jude Festival

Contact: Bill Kidwell, Chairman
Phone: 786-4371
or
Contact: Barry Howard
Email: barryshoward@sbcglobal.net

The festival is our major social event and fund raiser each year and each year our parish sets aside a weekend in June to generously and wholeheartedly give of its time, talent and treasure. This is truly a cooperative undertaking by hundreds of parishioners. The tasks range from very large to very small and are suited for young and old alike. It is a time to become reacquainted with people you haven't seen for some time and an opportunity to welcome new members in a social atmosphere. It is a time for families to share food, games and each other's company. And along with all of this, the festival helps put a little extra money in the bank for future needs of the parish.

Within the boundaries of our parish are over 2,200 St. Jude families. Our parish has been subdivided into areas, and a neighborhood sponsor in each area has volunteered to be a parish representative. They are asked to call on new members who move into their neighborhood and welcome them to St. Jude. As new parishioners are important to our community, every other month we invite new members to get acquainted with other parishioners by joining us in the cafeteria after the 10:00 a.m. Mass for doughnuts and coffee. Assistance in serving refreshments or ideas on how to enhance this ministry are most welcome.
